BIPOC Leadership

CORE’s mission is a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equity in food production and distribution. Food systems led by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) represent an essential aspect of our diverse agricultural landscape, yet they often face unique challenges and systemic barriers. Our platform seeks to spotlight BIPOC food systems in North Carolina.

By addressing key issues and challenges faced by BIPOC communities in the food sector, we work to dismantle barriers and collaborate with communities involved in food production. Here are some of our key questions and actions:

Please refer to CORE’s Resources page HERE for more information.

By addressing these questions and fostering a community-driven dialogue, we aspire to contribute to the resilience and prosperity of BIPOC food systems. Join us on this journey towards a more equitable and inclusive future in food and agriculture.

Art as Method

Art as Method is a multidisciplinary research project that prioritizes the use of qualitative data as a needed frame to highlight and validate community stories through conversation, art and engagement around equity and access in the food system. The goal of Outcomes 4  highlights community perspectives as data. Utilizing accessible mediums that are more reflective and intentional when interacting with our communities.

The methodology is a revolutionary community research project that explores community perspectives on equity and is a catalyst in the conversation on greater accessibility in food systems across NC.

We invite you to listen to the voices and conversations of our communities through art, conversation and meaningful engagement. Check out the Art as Method page for updates and the CORE Events page for potential events.
